Cornucopia Thanksgiving Treats
These little Thanksgiving treats are just right for kids at the holiday table or for a school feast day treat. The waffle cones can be filled with any number of small goodies.
What you'll need:
-
Waffle ice cream cones
-
Tea Kettle
-
Wax paper
-
Small spoon
-
Assorted small treats (see below for ideas)
How to make it: (Warning: Adult supervision is recommended when using the stove)
-
Place a kettle half-filled with water on the stove. Set the burner on medium-high and wait for it to steam.
-
Once your water is steaming, very carefully place the pointed end into the spout. Let the cone sit in the spout for about 9 seconds. Carefully remove the cone and use your hand and a small metal spoon to gently start shaping the cone end. Watch out because the cone will be very hot. You may have to reinsert the cone a few times depending on how dry the cone is.
-
Once you have the shape you want, hold onto the cone for a few seconds as it cools down to set the shape. Set your shaped cone on wax paper to cool off completely before filling.
