How to make it:
Warning: This project definitely needs some adult prep and help with the saw and hot glue, so grab a grown-up!
-
Using your hand saw, cut two lengths of your yardstick that will be the length of the long sides, and two lengths of yardstick that will be for the shorter sides.
-
Sand the edges of the yardstick pieces.
-
Print out and choose one of the My Dad Rules typefaces and cut it out with scissors.
-
Center the My Dad Rules banner on one of the long pieces of the yardstick.
-
Using the Mod Podge, glue the banner down. Apply a coat on top of the banner also to seal in the banner. Don’t rub too hard with the brush so the banner doesn’t smear.
-
If you like, you can give the other yardstick pieces a coat of the Mod Podge too so they all look the same.
-
Once the Mod Podge is dry, carefully have adult hot glue down the two longer pieces of yardstick to the frame. Next, apply the two smaller side pieces and glue them on top of the long pieces on the side.
-
Add your picture and you’ve got a great gift for Dad!
