Pineapple Bowling

This simple kids' craft and game is a snap to put together and can be made individually or put together with a group for a great game at a Luau, summer party, or picnic. We used recycled Gatorade and water bottles for a fun upcycled project.

What you'll need:

  • Empty Gatorade or water bottle

  • Card stock: Yellow and Green

  • Tape

  • Marker

  • Scissors

  • Pineapple pattern template

  •

How to make it:

  1. Print out your pineapple pattern and trace it onto cardstock.  Trace 2 of the body of the pineapple in yellow, and one of the top in green.

  2. Draw on the face for your pineapple buddy, adding as much detail as you like.  Create criss-cross lines with markers to create a diamond pattern, making sure not to cover over your face.

  3. Take the top of your pineapple and fold it in half.  Then accordion fold two more times on either side of the center fold.

  4. Tape your top onto the back of your pineapple face.

  5. Tape the side pieces of the two pineapple halves.

  6. The bottle should slide ride in the middle.  To weigh your bottle at the bottom, you can pour beans into the bottle and put on the lid.

You are now ready to line up your pineapples and start bowling!  These cute little pineapples are fun to make at a party and let the guests take theirs home as a party favor.
