Paper Rockets!

Three, two, one, blast off!  This easy kid’s paper rocket craft will brighten up any boring day.  Make a bunch and send them all into space.  So easy to make they are a fun homeschool art project or group activity.   Try out our other Kidfunideas Space theme projects too!

What you'll need:

  • 1 wide milkshake straw

  • 1 smaller diameter straw than the milkshake straw.  The ones that bend at the top work best.

  • Rocket template

  • Crayons or colored pencils to decorate your rocket

  • Scissors

  • Tape

  • Glue stick

How to make it:

  1. Cut out two of the rocket pair mirror images.  If you are using the black and white version, color to decorate your rocket.

  2. Take a 2” section of the larger diameter straw and tape one end closed.

  3. Tape the straw to one side of the rocket on the non-printed side just below where the window is.

  4. Use a glue stick and coat the opposite rocket image on the nonprinted side.

  5. Sandwich the straw between the rocket images pressing down along the edges.

  6. To use your rocket, insert the smaller diameter straw into the bottom of the straw inside the rocket images and blow.
