Snake in the boot
Ring toss game
Looking for a super quick game to make for your little buckaroo? Try this simple to put together a ring toss game. We used a simple bucket to catch the rings. As Woody would say, “there’s a snake in my boot!” We used dive rings we found in the summer seasonal section of Target. They came in a pack of 4 for $2 or, you can even use rubber snakes from the party supply store. Tie the snakes into rings using some twist ties. Lots of laughs and a quick-to-make kid’s game.
What you’ll need:
-
Small bucket, wastebasket, or cardboard box
-
12 x 18” Construction Paper- your choice of color
-
Glue Stick
-
Tape
-
Optional: Laminator
-
Boot Printout
-
4- 6 dive rings or rubber snakes
How to make it:
-
Print out the Kidfunideas boots and title art and trim away the excess paper.
-
Glue your boots to the construction paper at the bottom of the 12” side, lining up the spurs. Trim away excess construction paper above the boot tops or fold the excess paper behind the boot tops.
-
Glue your Snake in the boots title to the front of the boots.
-
Optional: Laminate your boot artwork. We laminated ours to make it stronger and because we were going to use it outside where it might get wet.
-
Find a bucket, box, or even a clean wastebasket and tape your boot picture to the rim of your container and at the bottom. Tip: if you are using a really lightweight container that might tip over, place a brick or something heavy in the bottom to keep it from tipping over.
-
If you are using rubber snakes: Coil your snakes into small rings overlapping the snake if necessary and tie together with twist ties or fishing line.
To Play:
Take turns seeing how many rings you can get in the bucket. The one with the most rings after 3 turns wins that round.
