This giant ice cream won’t melt or drip.  It’s a fun and easy kid craft to teach and reinforce color recognition. Kids love to make this giant cone and hang it up on the wall.  Try out our other fun Ice cream theme craft projects and recipe too.

 

 

What you'll need:

• Construction Paper or foam sheets: At least 8 – 10 colors

• Large Sheet of construction paper to mount your cone & scoops

• Marker

• Scissors

• Glue

 

 

How to make it:

1. Print out the ice cream cone pattern and trace it onto different color construction paper or foam sheets. (Foam gives it a more 3D look).

2.  Next, trace the cone shape onto brown foam or construction paper.  Use a brown or black marker to make criss-cross marks to mimic the pattern on an ice cream cone.

3. Get a sheet of construction paper, and lay out your scoops on the paper.  Depending on how much overlap you have on the scoops will determine how long your paper needs to be.  Glue your cone down first at the bottom of your paper and add scoops on top.

4. For younger kids, it is fun to label the different scoop colors on the cones.
