How cute are these little pumpkins!  This quick kids' craft is a terrific way to use those little pumpkins that always seem to be leftover from Halloween.  Kids can make these little pumpkins in no time and they make a cute decoration for the Thanksgiving table.   

 

 

What you'll need:

• Small size pumpkins

• Black Marker

• Scissors

• Pilgrim Hat patterns

• Tape

• Glue Stick & Glue

• Construction paper: Brown/Black/Yellow/White

• Peel and stick Googly Eyes

 

 

How to make it:

1. Download the Pilgrim pumpkin hat patterns.  There is one for the boy hat and one for the girl’s bonnet.

2. Cut the hats out of the color paper indicated by the patterns.

3. For the boy’s Pilgrim hat:  Cut the hat out of brown construction paper or card stock.  Cut slits in the paper where indicated on the pattern.  Fold the paper along the hat brim fold and glue it together with a glue stick.  Attach the black sash and buckle on top of the sash with a glue stick.  Bring the top hat edges together and connect with tape.  You can use a couple of pieces of tape in the back of the hat to attach to you your pumpkin. 

4. Details:  Next attach peel and stick googly eyes.  If you don’t have peel and stick eyes, you can attach regular googly eyes with double-sided tape, or draw in your own eyes with a marker.   Make a mouth from black construction paper and attach with a glue stick or, draw in a mouth with a black marker.

5. For the girl’s Pilgrim bonnet: Cut out the bonnet from white construction paper and make slits on the paper where indicated on the pattern.  Fold the brim of the bonnet back and crease into place.  At the back end, curve together with the two end flaps and secure with tape.  Tape the middle flap down on top of the two back flaps.  Tape the bonnet to the pumpkin.
